Thayer's passion for off-roading and overlanding came from growing up in the mountains of Colorado, namely Crested Butte and Vail, and spent her free time as a teenager driving down winding dirt roads in cars that probably would have preferred paved ones. It just seemed natural to her to keep driving farther and deeper into the mountains and deserts as she ended up owning trucks that were more capable of handling the terrain than the original '80s Subaru DL's that she had. She lives with her husband, her two elementary school age daughters and their two cats on a farm outside Boulder, Colorado.

Coolest place you’ve ever woken up in? On the Baja peninsula on a secluded beach watching dolphins play in the surf!
Land Legs or Sea Monster? Love the mountains and deserts, not really one for being on the water.
Preferred method of adrenaline or endorphins? Anything with four wheels!! My Land Rovers preferably.
What is one thing you can’t camp without? Baby wipes, hair ties and COFFEE!
