Derek Hines, is from Fremont, NH and is a freeride mountain biker. Derek has been riding a bike since he was about four years old. There isn’t one type of riding he loves more than another. Derek will spend all day in the bike park doing party laps on the big jump line and then jump in his truck and head straight for the mountains to hike with his bike on his back in search of steep tech. Derek wants to inspire people who are newcomers to mountain biking that there is more than one style of riding and that it has way more to offer than most people think, more freedom than people expect and that they can enjoy it all!

Any before bed rituals? Stretch and put on a solid soundscape if I’m not camping.
Best dream you’ve had recently summed up in 3 words? Fast, steep, technical I think .
Early bird or night owl? Definitely an Early bird 90% of the time but when I’m in good company I can stay up pretty late.
Coolest place you’ve ever woken up in? Somewhere in the white mountains when I was in high school on a backpack trip. I woke up to a killer view and three inches of snow outside of my tent.
Land Legs or Sea Monster? I’m in love with the mountains and I'm also a big Sasquatch guy.
Preferred method of getting your adrenaline/endorphins pumping? Steep rock slabs, fresh loamy trail, or a nice fast flowing jump line.
What is one thing you can’t camp without? My aero press or some way to make coffee. I’m usually cranky if I don’t have at least one cup of coffee in the morning.
