Try as it might, Matt and Sarah Girgis' Ford Bronco Raptor hasn't met any terrain it doesn't like. Nicknamed "Brapple," this fully-loaded, off-road mobile has ripped around sand dunes in Sand Hollow, rallied gravel track in Big Bear, and navigated off-road in the Eastern Sierra. Put simply: This adventure vehicle is built for anything, and a righteous addition to the HEST Rigs We Dig Series. Read on to meet Brapple!

What do you like most about your rig?

We love how the Braptor can crawl over crazy terrain, blast through the desert, and has all the creature comforts for camping.

On your average weekend adventure, what is the gear set up you bring with you? How did you navigate gear storage needs into your rig set up?

We mainly have the Braptor setup to go on an adventure at any time. We typically bring basic recovery and tools, then pack our food and clothes to take off to the next adventure.  We’ve been able to figure out what specific tools and gear we need to bring over the years. Having the HEST Dually Long mattress in the RTT and the HEST Pillows really have added comfort and have allowed us to extend our normal weekend adventures out towards one week trips.

Any custom details?

We love the wrap on the vehicle and how organized the rear of the rig is.

Coolest place you’ve taken your rig to?

Sand Hollow in Utah was pretty rad. Having the dunes and crazy rock features all in one “playground” really showed off how far the rig has come.

Any projects in the pipeline to get your rig even more adventure ready?

Overall the build is essentially complete. We plan to add some additional lighting and small added comforts.

Biggest challenge in your build out?

The biggest challenge was fitting all our camping gear and camera equipment all in one tight space for our media trips. Using tire racks, storage systems, and mounting equipment has been essential for this build.

Tips for others looking to do the same to their vehicle?

Plan out your end goal and build towards that. Focus on the essentials and get out and explore!
