Is this your daily driver or getaway car?
Daily driver & full-time home!
What do you like most about your rig?
The off-road capability and how versatile a truck camper is.
On your average weekend adventure, what is the gear set up you bring with you? How did you navigate gear storage needs into your rig set up?
As two people living full-time in a truck every inch of space is important. We have a two burner propane stove, a propane fire pit and a heater. We have two five foot long drawers that pullout from under our bed that store all of our clothes and kitchen stuff. We also removed the rear seats in the cab for our Dometic fridge, dry food storage, and other gear.
Any cool custom details you’re proud of?
Because our drawers under the bed don’t fill the entire back and around the wheel wells we created false bottom storage on the sides and back of the bed platform for tools and other miscellaneous gear. It’s accessible by lifting up our mattress and having a HEST that folds in half makes that so much easier.
Coolest place you’ve taken your rig to?
North Rim of the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park.Any projects in the pipeline to get your rig even more adventure ready?
We would love to get a slide in camper after living just out of our camper shell through a winter. We also want to do suspension!
Biggest challenge in your build out?
Sealing our tailgate and back hatch against water and snow. This is still a work in progress for us.
Tips for others looking to do the same to their vehicle?
While this is our third vehicle we’ve built out we recommend just going out in whatever rig you have to figure out your specific needs and wants. And come to peace with the fact you will always be adjusting your setup to fit your needs.
