Best Friggin Mattress for Camping... EVER!

"Absolutely LOVE this mattress. We were so disappointed when we got our Thule Autana 3 tent and could only go one night on the OEM mattress. With the cool (ok, cold) Alberta nights, the foam would get so stiff on the bottom that we’d wake up soar and achey. Imported the Hest DuallyRTT (sadly they won’t ship to Canada… YET) and had to wait a few months before trying it. WE SLEEP BETTER THAN AT HOME NOW! I just can’t say how impressed we are. Yes, it’s pricey to buy, ship, and import into Canada. But my word, IT IS WORTH IT!! AWESOME JOB GUYS!!"

      HEST RTT Mattress Fitment

"All, So here's the real skinny about the Dually RTT mattress I ordered. It does fit the dimensions of the 23Zero Walkabout 56 without any clearance issues WHEN OPEN. However I have to point out that it will NOT FIT when closing the Roof Top Tent unless you want to slightly modify your tent. I've had my tent for almost 3 years now so I don't mind modifying the tent to help this work. Most will not want to spend the money on a RTT and then have to modify it to support your mattress. If you are considering marketing this as compatible then I'd venture to say the mattress shouldn't be more than 3" thick in order for these tents to close without any additional modifications. I believe you should also reach out to the other Walkabout owners and verify the size of the tent and ask for his/her opinion as well. When closing the tent the excess fabric that needs to be tucked into the tent gets tucked in between the two mattress pads when folded; once the fabric is tucked that side of the tent will not compress enough to allow the installed velcro straps to hold (especially if the velcro is older). Additionally with the added height now, not only will the velcro straps not hold the mattress/tent compressed enough, it strains the zipper that attaches the transit cover on the opposite side of the hinge assembly. I'm afraid if you compress the tent to that point, the added stress applied to the support arms inside may cause them to buckle/bend at their attachment point. My "FIX" is adding 1/4" spacers on each pivot mount of the tent providing an additional 1/2" clearance at the hinges when folded and modified cargo straps with buckle to replace the velcro on each side. So now the ~10 1/4" space between the top and bottom platforms of the tent are now ~10 3/4" at the fold. However, at the opposite side where it really matters I still CAN NOT get the tent to close evenly and sits at about ~11 3/4" with the fabric tucked in and the transit cover zipped close. These are both approximations due to the fact that when the tent fabric is being tucked it never packs the same each time it closes. Adding the cinch buckles was the only way to keep the tent compressed enough to not put too much compression stress on the support arms of the tent and still be able to zip up the transit cover without unnecessary stress on the closing zipper. Out on the trail fitment was even worse with the time it took to break down the tent and get it all put away and zipped up. I almost need to put 1/2" spacers in and then trim some off the ends of the support poles at the hinge assembly to alleviate the height difference from adding the spacers which I still may try. Also, even substituting the newer buckles on the closing side versus the original velcro straps there is still significant stress put on the straps to hold the open end closed, pull the travel cover up and over and fasten it down enough to allow the zipper to close. This will definitely not work on an off the shelf Walkabout56 with no modifications. Maybe get in touch with Justin at 23Zero to collaborate this. I truly believe you need to either (1) pull the 23Zero Walkabout56 fitment off your website, (2) add that it will need significant alterations to the tent in order for it to close or (3) consider making a thinner 3" mattress to fit. Obviously any alteration of the tents folding mechanisms will void any sort of tent warranty if it is still under coverage. Summing it all up; this has to be the best feeling mattress for a roof top tent of any kind and was excited to see that it fit and was very comfortable. I was very disappointed however to find out afterward having spent the money on such a reputable company that I couldn't even get it closed and it would seem that only half of the Research and Testing had been done. I've been in touch with Elijah at HEST and he has been working hand in hand with me to get the right information and I respect that. Customer service is on point and I'll certainly purchase another mattress from HEST for my next RTT....as long as it fits."

      Perfect for Tepui Kukenam 3

"I just want to add to the info that I couldn’t find before purchasing. I knew it would fit and I’d be able to close the Kukenam 3 but I can confirm that if you have the anti-condensation mat it will still close even with an REI double sleeping bag in place. I’m sure the optional insulated liner will be fine too. I liked my tent before this but I didn’t love it and would opt for cot in the open for comfort if solo and weather permitted. Thank you Hest for the quick shipping and follow up."

      Incredibly comfortable

"I've had it for about a month and holy cow, this thing is so comfortable! Breathes well while you are sleeping (I live in Texas and used it during the summer). It is portable and lightweight, so perfect to take along for your camping adventures without adding too much weight to your load. Would absolutely recommend it."

      Next Level Comfort!

"I thought I'd reached the peak of comfort when I got my Tepui roof top tent. Boy was I wrong! This mattress is next level comfortable. We get home from our weekend adventures well rested and wondering if this might be better than our home bed. It's really that good!"

      Q&A

Will this pad fit the Yakima Skyrise Medium? The dimensions look correct but the height when folded is larger. Thanks!
For the Yakima Skyrise Medium rooftop tent, I recommend the HEST Dually RTT mattress. closed Yakima Skyrise Medium is L 58.00 in x W 48.00 in x H 16.50 in. A folded HEST Dually RTT is 47in X 54in. The weight is 31 pounds (lbs).
Is there a Hest fitted sheet that fits the dually RTT? Did not see it listed on the page for the fitted sheets.
We currently do not have a fitted sheet for this size pad.
