What do you like most about your Ram Promaster?

We love The Wandering Blue Beauty’s layout: there is lots of storage for gear, lots of counter space for whipping up delicious meals, and lots of chill zones for lounging.

On your average weekend adventure, what is the gear set up you bring with you? How did you navigate gear storage needs into your Ram ProMaster?

Gear storage is essential to our clients. We build most of our vans around mountain bikes, skies, surf boards and SUP boards. Our large “garages” (the area under the bed) can be customized to fit all you gear at once, setting you up for ultimate adventure weekend!

Any cool custom details you’re proud of?

It's hard to choose one detail. In a small space everything is intertwined. What makes us proud is the ability to take our clients wish list and make everything fit while preserving an airy, open, natural design.

Coolest place you’ve taken your rig to?

Last summer we were able to explore Montana and Glacier National Park. That was such a nice escape from the Crazy COVID Summer. Being able to have everything you need and vanish into nature was exactly what the soul needed.

How long did it take to build out your RAM PRO MASTER from start to finish?

Most our builds take between 8 and 12 weeks. The Wandering Blue Beauty took around 10 weeks.

How long has Wanderful Wheels been around now and how did you guys first get your start in the RAM PROMASTER AND Mercedes-Benz van conversion business?

Our journey started 6 years ago with a dream to move into a van and travel up the west coast to Alaska with our dog. We bought a van, we built it out, and we only made it as far as Durango, CO. We decided we wanted to end up in this amazing town and Colleen got a job offer she could not turn down. We sold the van in order to put down roots and realized there was a business opportunity. For the next few years we built vans in our spare time and the demand just continued to grow. In 2019 we decided to take the plunge into entrepreneurship and we established Wanderful Wheels. For us van life has been about chasing our dreams, going on adventures and creating our best life. We love what we do because we help others create their dream lives as well. We see ourselves as a lifestyle company because owning a camper van changes the way you travel, adventure and live.

What's the biggest challenge in having your own van conversion business?

Finding the time to get out and enjoy van life. We are so grateful to have ended up in a fast-growing industry but as a result we don’t spend as much time as we would like out adventuring. At least we get to live vicariously through our clients!

Any exciting projects in the pipeline for Wanderful Wheels?

We are releasing a new Family Van layout this summer! This van will feature seating and sleeping for 4, a full wet bath, kitchen, dining zone for four and of course a HEST mattress
