At HEST, we design gear for sleeping under the stars- because we believe the best nights are spent outside, connected to nature, and cradled by the landscapes we love. Whether you’re overlanding into a remote desert plateau, mountain biking to your favorite alpine lake, or simply lying back and birdwatching in the forest, our gear is built to bring comfort wherever you roam. “Sleep Well, Play More” means that when you rest well outside, you wake up ready to fully enjoy everything the wonders of the wild have to offer.

But all of these experiences depend on one essential foundation: access to public lands.

That’s why we’re proud to announce that HEST has joined the Brands for Public Lands coalition. This initiative, led by The Conservation Alliance, is a collective call to action from businesses across the outdoor industry to defend our nation’s public lands and waters from mounting political, environmental, and economic threats.

We are doubling down, all hands on deck for the cause.  In addition to our unwavering support with Brands for Public Lands, we are committed to continuing our longterm partnership with Backcountry Hunters Anglers, with our HEST X BHA Camp Pillow where proceeds benefit their efforts to protect our wild places, waters and wildlife.

Public Lands Are Under Attack

Our public lands and waters—millions of acres of forests, canyons, rivers, and mountains—are under siege. A wave of secretarial orders, proposed legislation, and backroom decisions are prioritizing industrial extraction over recreation, conservation, and community access. These efforts not only threaten the places we cherish—they jeopardize the backbone of the $1.2 trillion outdoor economy that supports 5 million American jobs and countless communities, including ours.

When access is stripped away or landscapes are permanently altered by unchecked development, it affects every one of us who depend on the outdoors for our livelihood, mental health, and sense of freedom.

Why HEST Cares

HEST was born from nights under the open sky. We are hunters, skiers, hikers, bikers, runners, fishers, boaters, campers, overlanders, nappers and love toasting our founder’s strong margaritas around a campfire. Our gear is designed to improve your sleep while immersed in nature—whether you're camped beside a high alpine lake or posted up at your favorite desert overlook. But none of that is possible without protected, accessible public lands.

These wild spaces are the reason we do what we do. And they’re what connect the fabric of our community—from weekend wanderers to hardcore adventurers. When those landscapes are threatened, so is our purpose as a brand.

We Stand With Other Brands to Protect What Matters

By joining the Brands for Public Lands coalition, we are adding our voice to a growing chorus of outdoor and adjacent industries who believe:

  • Public lands are not for sale. They are not political bargaining chips or balancing sheets.
  • National Monuments matter. They preserve critical cultural, ecological, and recreational value.
  • Industrial development isn’t worth the permanent cost. Once lost, these landscapes can’t be reclaimed.
  • Public lands need public input. Decisions must be made transparently, with community voices at the table.

Together, we aim to shift the narrative—because conservation isn’t partisan. It’s essential.

What You Can Do

Our message is simple: Protect wild places. Preserve public lands for their environmental, economic, and cultural value.
