CURTAIN CALL

Privacy is important. Some sort of curtain situation is an essential for anyone interested in sleeping in their car. There are a ton of different options for curtains and window coverings, from fancy custom made stuff to a strategically placed towel: whatever works!

BATTERY -LED LIGHTS

Lights can go a long way in creating coziness & ambiance. Flashlights will do the trick when you need it, but investing in a nice LED light string or lantern make a nice upgrade.

CRACK THE WINDOW

A little airflow makes all the difference! Crack a window or two before you fall asleep and wake up refreshed.

SHADE COVER

Whether you roll with a windshield cover or just position your car strategically under a tree, shade is your friend when it comes to sleeping in your car.

PARK ON A SPOT THAT IS FLAT & EVEN

It might take a little bit of extra maneuvering but trust us: you’ll sleep so much better if you park on an even/flat spot.

STASH SPOT

Always designate a spot to
stash your keys & other important things. It’s amazing how quickly stuff can go missing when you’re sleeping in your car… save yourself the headache and stash smartly! The phone pocket on the Sleep System & Dually are a great key stash spot.

CREATURE COMFORTS

This isn’t backpacking & you don’t have to worry about carrying everything you pack. Your car will do the lugging for you, so you might as well pack those extra creature comforts that are going to make your experience more enjoyable. Whether it's a mosquito net, a chess set, a portable battery, or a more comfortable mattress: pack it in!

PACK SMART

That being said... when you’re packing up the car make sure you account for the fact that you’ll need enough space for your mattress to fully open and for you to sleep on it! Roof boxes/racks are a great way to free up some interior space in your vehicle and leave enough room for snoozing.
